Blue Diamond
CyberAward of Excellence

This award is given only to personal homepages devoted to a EUROPEAN-TRAVEL DESTINATION WEBSITE.  Please read the criteria below before you apply for my award.

I have been honored to have received some wonderful awards in recognition of the hard work that I have done to create and maintain my website on All Roads Lead To Roma and each award is very special to me.  I created the Blue Diamond CyberAward of Excellence in 2000 to recognize and honor personal homepages related to travel to European cities that are, in my opinion, of five-star quality in any combination of the following categories:

Overall web design;
Photo essays or excellence in photo coverage;
Quality and depth of content;
Is family-friendly; and/or
Is just plain fun and interesting to visit.
I think that hard work should be recognized and recognition by one's peers is the best form of flattery there is.  Therefore, my award is given to those websites I feel are the Best of the Best European travel-related homepages on the Web.  These awards are not given away.  They are earned through exceptional website development, maintenance, and presentation.  Since I do not have a guestbook, you do not have to sign anything to receive my award.  But, if you visit my website while you are here, an email letting me know how you feel about my site would be nice.  After all, I took the time to view your website, too.

It is not easy to be given this award.  Here are the rules.  Please read them carefully before submitting or nominating a website for consideration.

First and foremost, sites submitted must hold my interest and I must be convinced to want to read on and bookmark the site for a future visit.

Sites must be in good taste to qualify and must be on the subject matter of travel to European destinations or they will not be considered.

In addition, the following criteria is also strictly followed:
I will not review any sites containing pornography, nudity, or relate in any way to "adult" themes, are hateful, racist, political, bigoted, or that contain foul language.  Please note that any site containing any form of child pornography will be reported.

Check your spelling.  Bad grammar or misspelled words turn me off.

Your site must be easily navigable, and contain more things than just links or animated gifs, and needs to load relatively quick (under two minutes); otherwise, I will most likely leave.  I am also looking for substance, not just links and fancy dressing.

If your site is written in a language other than English, the site must have an alternate English translation version available.

Your site must be Netscape- and Internet Explorer-compatible.

Commercial or "for fee" websites will not be considered.

There must be no broken links or graphics and no pages "under construction".

Sites submitted for consideration must contain at least five pages (not including an awards page) and must have quality information about the destination covered.

Photos should be at least 90% yours.  If not, proper credit for them should be given.  They need to show landmarks, scenery, monuments, and/or overall views of the subject European destination, not just pictures of family members, friends, or pets.

If you are given my award, you must link the Blue Diamond CyberAward of Excellence back to my site and, once done, acknowledge it by sending me an email.

I do not have a submission request form.  If you are still with me and think that you meet the above criteria, please send me an email to the address listed below with the subject line marked AWARD CONSIDERATION REQUEST.  In the body of the email, I will need the following:
Your name
Your email address
Title of website being nominated
URL (i.e., http://___)
A short description of your website (less than 100 words)
Where you are from
That's it.  I will try and visit your page personally within 14 days.  If you are given my award, you will be notified by return email with my award logo and instructions on how to link it back to my site.  I monitor all submissions.  This is a one-shot deal.  If you have not heard back from me within 14 days, you can assume you have not been awarded this award.  However, you can reapply after four weeks and try again.

If you know of another website that is deserving of a visit, please email me at the address below and I will take a look.

GOOD LUCK!
