Ever wonder who the statues are of that adorn the top of Bernini's Colonnades in St. Peter's Square?  There are a total of 140 statues of saints (70 on each side).  Imagine yourself standing in the middle of St. Peter's Square at the Obelisk from Caligula's time that was moved here from Nero's Circus.  You are facing the Basilica of St. Peter's and are engulfed by the open arms of the gigantic marble colonnades on each side of you, embracing your presence.
